The present simple tense can be used with a future meaning when it is used for timetables and programmes. The present continuous can be used for fixed arrangements in the near future, especially when we know the time and the place. In this text, we have two examples of using the present simple tense with a future meaning. The first example «My lectures at the university 8) start (start) next Tuesday!» shows a timetable. The second example «As soon as I 15) get (get) one, you must come and stay!» shows a conditional clause.
