there is / there are
We use there is with singular nouns and there are with plural nouns.
Мы используем there is с существительными в единственном числе, а there are с существительными во множественном числе.
There is a market.

When the statement contains more than one noun, the form corresponding to the first noun is used.

We use prepositions of place to say where things are.

Countable nouns have singular and plural forms.

It isn’t possible to count sugar, water or meat as they don’t have plural forms.

We can count packets of sugar, bottles of water or pieces of meat.

We use a/an with singular countable nouns. We use a before consonants.

We use an before vowels.

We use some with uncountable nouns and plural countable nouns.

We use some in affirmative sentences and any in negative sentences and questions.
